From Boerum Hill to Bergen Beach. Fort Greene to Flatlands. Cobble Hill to Canarsie. It's only Brooklyn when you count every neighborhood and every community.
MISSION STATEMENT:
The Art of Bklyn Film Festival is the world’s only independent, international festival for, by and about the Brooklyn indie film scene—a local scene with global influence. We accept films from all over Brooklyn and the world, as long as their makers are connected to the borough in some way (i.e. through personnel, content, theme, setting, etc.).
WHAT: Founded in 2011, The Art of Bklyn Film Festival is an annual, international film festival produced by The Art of Bklyn, a nonprofit organization dedicated to independent film and media made in and about the borough. More info on submitting to AoBFF on our FAQ page. WHO: Your film will be curated by a diverse Film Screening Panel of industry professionals under the direction of 2016 Guest Festival Director, award-winning filmmaker and Pratt Institute faculty member Eric Trenkamp. A Judging Panel of industry professionals then selects award winners in each category. Our judges have included actors Annabella Sciorra and Eric Mabius, director Elliot Lester, producer Demian Lichtenstein. WHERE: Centrally located in downtown Brooklyn at Founders Hall Theater in St. Francis College and select locations around the borough. WHY: We formed the AoBFF in 2011 to create a large-scale platform for independent film in the borough because Brooklyn needed a major film festival that focused on its vital and diverse indie film scene. |
