VIRTUAL FESTIVAL FAQs
We are using a brand new platform called Eventive Virtual Festival to host our 2020 Digital Edition. It combines studio-grade DRM protections for films, plus full scheduling, an interactive Film Guide, ticketing, and Livestream capabilities, via integration with Zoom.
It's a lot more robust than a typical VOD platform, and we've tried to answer most questions about it here. Please get in touch if you need any additional info. You can also visit Eventive's Help section HERE.
How do I find when my film is screening?
The best way is to search our Film Guide. Click on your film, and it will show the screening(s) it is a part of.
When does my screening start?
Although all events are available for pre-order, they can only be "Unlocked" at the scheduled start time, which is listed on each event. We have timed the Q&As to start about 10 min. after the block's full running time. Each film can be played individually if preferred, and you can pause, rewind etc.
How long do I have to watch a screening?
The 'Availability Window' is the time period during which customers are allowed to unlock and open the virtual screening. We have set the window to be from the scheduled start time of a screening up to midnight that same day (or later for late night screenings.)
Once "Watch Now" is clicked and watching has begun, viewers will have 24 hours to finish. When you unlock the movie, you will see an indication of how long you have to start watching below the “watch now” button on the film page. After you've started watching the movie, the indication will change to show you how much time is left to finish.
When do the Livestream Talkbacks start and how will they work?
We have timed the Q&As to start about 10 min. after a block's total running time, and they will appear in the same window the films stream in. We will be hosting via Zoom and will invite filmmakers to join us on camera. Ticket and pass holders can type questions in a chat window that we can see.
** Please sign up for a free Zoom account so we can invite you. (Don't worry we will be in touch with specific Zoom instructions to make it easy!)
