We are very proud to announce the Official Selections for the 6th Annual AoBFF (June 4-12, 2016.) We are the only festival in the world that exclusively features films created and catalyzed within Brooklyn's independent film scene, which has members living and working independently in multiple countries.

In order to qualify for the Art of Brooklyn Film Festival filmmakers have to make a case for how they participate in Brooklyn’s indie film scene either in the borough itself or around the world.

Filmmaker Dalton Narine's latest film, Mas Man (The Complete Work)  is now available to stream worldwide exclusively on Brooklyn On Demand. The film was an Official Selection of the 2012 Art of Brooklyn Film Festival and has won awards at festivals in Trinidad & Tobago, New York City, Las Vegas, Ohio, Los Angeles, Switzerland, Indonesia and South Africa. It has been screened on six continents – USA, Canada, Argentina, England, Wales, Ireland, Holland, Poland, Greece, India, China, Thailand, Africa, Australia.

Mas Man is a portrait of Trinidadian artist and designer Peter Minshall, who received Prince Claus and Emmy awards for a body of work that includes three decades of thought-provoking Caribbean Carnival presentations, as well as his artistic direction of Opening Ceremonies at Olympic Games in Barcelona, Atlanta and Salt Lake City.

The feature-length documentary can be rented and viewed online and on Roku.

Actor Nico Tortorella stopped by New York Live on NBC to talk about his hit show Younger and his 2015 Art of Brooklyn Film Festival Best Feature 'Hunter&Game' now streaming Free on Brooklyn On Demand. 

The Art of Brooklyn Film Festival is looking for independent salespeople to join our Corporate Sales Team. We pay industry-standard commission to motivated individuals who can bring new business/corporate partners on board for 2016.

Ideal candidates are locally based (Brooklyn/NYC) and have contacts with brands and businesses open to supporting a unique cultural event that reaches desirable demographics. We support salespeople with statistics, demographic info and professionally designed sales materials. We have some leads but are interested in candidates with existing professional networks.

(Brooklyn, 2/16/2016)— The Art of Brooklyn Film Festival (AoBFF) is proud to welcome award-winning, Brooklyn film maker Eric Trenkamp as Guest Festival Director for its 6th Annual edition (June 8-12, 2016.) Eric is an award-winning writer/director whose short films and documentaries have been featured on IFC and Current TV, as well as in festivals in New York and Los Angeles. His feature film American Bomber, which is currently distributed by IndiePix Films, won awards at numerous film festivals, including "Best Director" at the 2013 Art of Brooklyn Film Festival and "Best Feature" at the Manhattan and Mississippi International Film Festivals. He is on the faculty of the Film/Video Department at the Pratt Institute.

​“When we parted company with our former Festival Director Jason Cusato in 2015 we talked about replacing him with one of the great Brooklyn film makers in our network,” said Executive Director Joseph Shahadi. “We put together a short list of accomplished candidates and quickly realized that we’d be lucky to work with any of them… so we rethought the position and decided to invite a different Brooklyn film maker to helm the festival each year. We are thrilled that Eric is the first.”
 
AoBFF is the only international, independent film festival focused on the Brooklyn indie film scene and since 2011 has become a platform for the Brooklyn-centric independent filmmaking community all over the world. The Art of Brooklyn launched Brooklyn On Demand — the only streaming platform focused on Brooklyn-centric indie film and media — in Fall 2014. BKOD can be seen online and on Roku, with over 90,000 views and counting.
