From Vice.com:
'Japanese photographer Hiroyuki Ito has been wandering the streets of New York City with his Leica for over two decades, capturing everything from Koko the Killer Clown at Coney Island to anonymous morning commuters on the Q. He recently self-published a new photobook, Brooklyn, that serves almost as a love letter to the borough. I asked him to write few words about what the place means to him and why he continues to photograph it.' - Elizabeth Renstrom, VICE Photo Editor Comedy and photography might seem to have nothing in common, but they're both about seeing everyday topics in a new way. Jenny Rubin has been making New Yorkers laugh for years and has recently discovered a new passion: taking pictures. Born and raised in the Village, she's also lived in Park Slope and Carroll Gardens. The Art of Brooklyn sat down with Jenny to talk about her creative life and her new book of photographs, "New York Walk." Brooklyn is art. Art is Brooklyn. Our instagram feed captures the borough in unexpected ways. Old school, new school. Street art and streets that are art. Who knew every inch of Kings County was so beautiful? (We did.) Follow us and you'll see why. |
