(Brooklyn, 2/16/2016)— The Art of Brooklyn Film Festival (AoBFF) is proud to welcome award-winning, Brooklyn film maker Eric Trenkamp as Guest Festival Director for its 6th Annual edition (June 8-12, 2016.) Eric is an award-winning writer/director whose short films and documentaries have been featured on IFC and Current TV, as well as in festivals in New York and Los Angeles. His feature film American Bomber, which is currently distributed by IndiePix Films, won awards at numerous film festivals, including "Best Director" at the 2013 Art of Brooklyn Film Festival and "Best Feature" at the Manhattan and Mississippi International Film Festivals. He is on the faculty of the Film/Video Department at the Pratt Institute. “When we parted company with our former Festival Director Jason Cusato in 2015 we talked about replacing him with one of the great Brooklyn film makers in our network,” said Executive Director Joseph Shahadi. “We put together a short list of accomplished candidates and quickly realized that we’d be lucky to work with any of them… so we rethought the position and decided to invite a different Brooklyn film maker to helm the festival each year. We are thrilled that Eric is the first.” AoBFF is the only international, independent film festival focused on the Brooklyn indie film scene and since 2011 has become a platform for the Brooklyn-centric independent filmmaking community all over the world. The Art of Brooklyn launched Brooklyn On Demand — the only streaming platform focused on Brooklyn-centric indie film and media — in Fall 2014. BKOD can be seen online and on Roku, with over 90,000 views and counting. Trenkamp said, “The Art of Brooklyn Film Festival has always done a phenomenal job of bringing together films, filmmakers and film lovers from around the world in a way that celebrates the creativity and unique spirit of our borough. I am honored to be a part of this year’s festival and am looking forward to further promoting Brooklyn as a hub of global culture that encompasses a variety of perspectives, all of which are filtered through the unique experience of living in one of the greatest cities on Earth.” Submissions for the 6th Annual AoBFF are open until April 22.

The Devil Wears Prada meets Girls in new sitcom LABELED, now streaming on Brooklyn On Demand12/16/2015
The hilarious and true story of the "lucky" few with the job everyone would die for... that's slowly killing them is now streaming on Brooklyn On Demand.
Labeled is a new comedy series that follows the motley crew of employees working in the PR department at Mirello, a prestigious Italian fashion brand. While most of their time is spent catering to A-list New York society, this tight knit family of misfits finds that the image they are selling at work is far more glamorous than the bizarre realities of their own lives. Lindsey Goodman and Brooklyn-based Jessie Katz have written and directed the new original series Labeled through their recently launched production company Piano Factory Pictures. The sitcom stems from the ladies' own experience in working together for Prada in 2007. Watch episodes 1-3 on Brooklyn On Demand, online and on Roku. |
